Your Team(s)
This part of the board seems quite neglected so tell me, what ice hockey club(s) do you support and how do you think they'll fair in the new season of their league? Have they made any big signings over the offseason to give them a good season ahead or will they fail miserably again?

Re: Your Team(s)
Good idea. My sympathies Dave, you got a though season coming your way. Been there, done that myself since I'm a Habs fan. But finally, we have a bright future on the horizon. If Sundin can finally decide what he'll do... even if he retires or sign elsewhere, I'm confident we'll have another great season and that we have a legitimate shot at the cup. It's too early to tell what will happen but I definitely see us in the top 5 teams for this year.
Re: Your Team(s)
Being a 'Nucks fan myself I really dont care anymore if Sundin doesnt sign in Vancouver, he's not exactly the best use for their money IMO.
As for the Belfast Giants, many fans around the EIHL are plugging us as favourites to win the league, we have a very balanced team for the season, and very skilled (for our standard) from what Ive seen from new signings - one of which you might recognise from the Sen's system, does Bobby Robins ring a bell?

Oh, really? Did they leave for the same reason? They told us that we weren't supporting them financially.

Re: Your Team(s)
That kind of club movement is unheard of here lol, we just bring in a new team and they'll last until they go broke basically... However fan groups with follow through to other local teams after their team folds, for example, here the Manchester Storm folded and a few years later the Manchester Phoenix were created and the Storm fans became Phoenix fans...

Re: Your Team(s)
Well, the problem in Omaha is that there are already a few established non professional programs that are popular amongst the small hockey contingency. So to bring in another franchise, it's hard to garner fans. Your best bet is in non-hockey fans and you have to convince them to come in the first place.

I have always been a fan of the Detroit Red Wings ever since I can remember.
Obviously they just won the Cup, signed Hossa, and Hasek retired, so I think they should be pretty good in the next season!

Follower of the Minnesota Wild and the NHL in general. This may be the season that the natives finally get restless with this team here in Minnesota. The days of blind loyalty and endless sellouts may come to an end if this team doesn't meet or exceed the expectations. For several years now they have sat on their hands at the trade deadline when a move needed to be made. The offense looks to have taken a significant step backward with the loss of Rolston/Demitra. I just have a bad feeling that this will be a rough year. They got their division title last year, and will surely remind us of that when/if this year's team falters.

Re: Your Team(s)
From Toronto so I'm a devoted Leafs fan... unfortunately...
I have no faith in the team this year however so I will end up cheering for the Canadian teams that make the playoffs in 2009/2010.
I don't think a Canadian team has won since Montreal in 93 so it would be nice to see the Cup where it belongs... in Canada this year!

I'm a Habs fan and I'm really hoping they can build on the great year they had last year... and with this being the 100th anniversary of the team, it would be fitting if they could bring the cup home for the 25th time.

Im an avalance and Blackhawks fan. Id love to see a canadian team win the cup though. Ive been a blackhawks fan since i was a kid and used to follow the nordiques, simply because my uncle liked the canadiens (thats right, im a spiteful bastard). Its finally okay to be a hawks fan lol

You might make fun of me but I have to go with my hometown team, Columbus Blue Jackets. Each off-season they make some good choise so they'll slowly make it up there, haha

Re: Your Team(s)
The Leafs have made the best off season choices this year so far.... give away everyone and get nothing in return... We need to finish bottom of the barell this year and get a top three draft shoice to go along with this years selection of Luke Schenn to develop a base to win the cup in five years... Hopefully!!

I'm a Leafs fan too!
Hey if we can't cheer them winning, let's cheer them finishing last to draft John Tavares! lol. Well, at least I hope they get #1 pick anyway.
